Introduction of Guests (2006/2007)

From Hansard

26 April 2007 - Provincial Ombudsman Kevin Fenwick

Mr. Hart: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I would like to join with you in welcoming Mr. Kevin Fenwick. He’s a constituent of mine. We have had brief conversations, not specifically dealing with his work but with things relating to the area of Balcarres, Fort Qu’Appelle, and Last Mountain-Touchwood. And I’ve always enjoyed exchanging views with Mr. Fenwick. And I certainly would like to join with you, Mr. Speaker, in welcoming him here today.

25 April 2007 - Brent Rathgeber

Mr. Hart: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I too would like to introduce to you and through you to all members of this Assembly someone who is seated in your gallery. We have a former Saskatchewan resident, Brent Rathgeber. He grew up in the Melville area, now calls Edmonton his home.

Brent is the executive director of the Progressive Contractors Association of Canada. He is here visiting and having some short meetings and I had the privilege of meeting very briefly with him this morning. We covered a number of issues and it’s certainly my pleasure to introduce him and welcome him to his home province and to this legislature. I’d ask all members to join with me.

16 April 2007 - Southey Red Hat Beauties

Mr. Hart: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, it’s certainly my pleasure today to introduce 14 lovely ladies that are seated in your gallery. They are the Southey Red Hat Beauties. And they’re here with us today to observe the proceedings in the House and they will be touring the building after they witness our proceedings here. And I will be meeting with them later, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, this group initially formed back in September 2004 with 11 members. They currently tell me they have 20 members and each month two of the members take on the responsibility of coordinating activities. And the two members that are responsible for April thought it would be great to come and see what their elected members do, Mr. Speaker. And I would ask all members to help me welcome them to their legislature.

28 March 2007 - Sharon and Bill Selnes

Mr. Hart: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, I would like to introduce to you today and to all members of the Assembly guests seated in your gallery. We have some special guests here today. They’re seated with one of our interns, Jonathan Selnes. With Jonathan are his parents, Sharon and Bill Selnes from Melfort. They arrived last night and were part of the supper that we had with the interns. And later on today after question period the Selneses are travelling, are beginning their trip to Calgary. And in view of the weather, we certainly hope that they have a safe trip. And I would ask all members of the Assembly to welcome them here this afternoon.

15 March 2007 - Punnichy Elementary School Students

Mr. Hart: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. And I’d like to thank the member from Regina Walsh Acres for allowing me to introduce guests.

Mr. Speaker, seated in the east gallery are 13 students from the Punnichy Elementary community school. They are grade 5 students. They’re here this morning accompanied by their teacher, Tara Hartl, and chaperones, Sheldon Thomas and Sterling Brass.

They’ve come to Regina this morning over, I know, snow-packed highways, particularly north of the Qu’Appelle Valley, because I drove over those same highways myself this morning. And I’m very pleased to see them here, and I will be visiting with them in a few moments time. We’re going to be going down to the staircase to have our pictures taken. And then we’re going to go and have a visit, and I’ll hopefully be able to answer their questions and those sorts of things. And I know all members will be well-behaved while they’re in the gallery, Mr. Speaker. And I’d ask all members to help me welcome them this morning. Thank you.
